Trailer Mounted Actuator and Breakaway system for Electric Brakes
Developed for Horse Trailers, RVs, Car Haulers or any 1,2 or 3 axle trailers equipped with electric brakes.
Trailer mounted / self contained.
Minimal wiring required on the trailer. No Installation required in tow vehicle as the portable in-cab controller plugs into the vehicle cigarette lighter and sends signals through the existing vehicle wiring to the actuator, providing adjustments to match load and road conditions.
On-board micropressor and accelerometer
Patented system “senses” the amount of braking effort required and provides for a smooth, safe stop.
Six variable load control settings
The in-cab controller is easy to operate and makes matching the performance of the trailer brakes to the brakes on the tow vehicle a simple process. Buttons are provided to either increase or decrease the amount of trailer braking. No other adjustments are required.
Visual / audio warning alerts driver to brake or controller problems.
The in-cab controller provides a visual and audio warning whenever a problem is detected with the trailer brake electrical system or with the Electrastar actuator. Status codes displayed by the unit make system diagnosis and repair a simple process.
17 amp trailer mounted battery required
Built-in battery charger in Actuator. Power is drawn from the tow vehicle’s running light circuit keeping trailer battery fully charged. Therefore the tow vehicle's running lights need to be on whenever the trailer is being towed.
Breakaway system
Trailer lights automatically illuminated whenever the brakes are applied, the manual stop button is pressed or a breakaway condition occurs.
